SYMBOLISME & SYMBOL-ISME

SYMBOLISME & SYMBOL-ISME est un ouvrage artistique et de réflexion qui explore les symboles comme langage universel. Le projet prend racine dans le Symbolisme, mouvement artistique qui m’inspire profondément, et s’étend vers une exploration plus large des symboles : signes figuratifs, contemporains, religieux, politiques, mythologiques ou culturels. Le livre se situe dans un entre-deux où mémoire, archive et invention se confondent À travers le dessin, la peinture, le collage et le photomontage, je construis une mythologie intemporelle, volontairement floue,
qui brouille les repères entre réel et fiction. Les images interrogent les mécanismes de censure,
d’invisibilisation et les récits dominants produits par les médias occidentaux, tout en révélant la charge symbolique et politique des signes, sans livrer de réponses définitives, l’ouvrage ouvre un espace de regard et de questionnement,
invitant le lecteur·ice à la curiosité, à l’interprétation et à la réactivation d’histoires souvent invisibilisées.

SYMBOLISME & SYMBOL-ISME is a cross-media artistic book exploring the power of symbols as a universal language. It investigates a dialogue between the Symbolist movement, one of my greatest sources of inspiration,
and symbols understood as tools of meaning and semantics. Contemporary signs, religious, political, mythological,
or cultural, form the core of this exploration. The book exists in an in-between space where memory, archive, and invention merge. Through drawing, painting, collage, and photomontage, I seek to construct a deliberately blurred, timeless mythology that disrupts the boundaries between reality and fiction. The images question mechanisms of censorship and invisibilization, as well as the dominant narratives produced by Western media, while revealing the symbolic and political charge embedded in signs. Without offering definitive answers, the book opens a space for looking and questioning, inviting curiosity, interpretation, and reflection on histories that are often rendered invisible.
